Born and raised in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México and San Antonio, Texas. Founding member of the Hispanic Youth Leaders Organization. Founding member of the San Antonio Community Leadership Council. She attended schools in México and Texas graduating from Health Careers High School in San Antonio, Texas. Receiving a Bachelor in Education with a Minor in Reading from St. Mary’s University and a Master in Educational Leadership from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas.
Ixchell is a graduate of numerous top-ranked leadership programs including the National Hispana Leadership Institute’s “Executive Leadership Program”, the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University “Effective Change through Public Policy Management” Certificate Program, and the Center for Creative Leadership’s “Leadership Development” Program. She has been a professional dancer/instructor throughout the U.S. and México. She continues to be a life long educator serving as a volunteer, teacher, curriculum coordinator, Head of School and Superintendent. She is the chief architect behind the contemporary Project Administrator position of the National Hispanic Institute at San Antonio’s Great Debate Team, and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Hispanic Institute at San Antonio and the Borrussia Dortmund Soccer League. She is also a volunteer and fundraiser for TMI Episcopal and is on the Advisory Board for Relay Graduate School of Education. Ixchell has lived and studied throughout various parts of México.
