Dr. Héctor F. González is the Director of Health for the City of Laredo, Texas. In his 30 years of public health service, he has been dedicated to improving the lives of South Texans through numerous scientific, professional, and medical initiatives as well as direct involvement in the Latino community. His Medical Doctor Degree is from La Universidad Autónoma De Guerrero and his Masters in Public Health is from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, School of Public Health at San Antonio.
Dr. González has served as Director-Border Environmental and Consumer Health-Texas Department of Health; Interim Director Communicable Disease Control/Chief Epidemiologist-San Antonio Metropolitan Health District; Physicians Assistant for Vida Y Salud Health Systems in Crystal City; Director of health services, health professions development and the childrens health access services for the Center for Health Care Policy and AVANCE, Inc. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio School of Allied Health, Family and Community Medicine Department and the South Texas Environmental and Education Research Center, San Antonio, Texas and the Public Health Advisory Board (PHAB) for the Integrated Health Sciences Facility (IHSFC), School of Rural Public Health, Texas A&M University.
